 2007 Tag Days Minimize
2007 Tag Days
Thursday, November 15th through Saturday, November 17th Tag Days return to DundasTag Day has been a DMHA fundraising tradition for over 30 years. Not only is it an opportunity to raise money to support your minor hockey program and to offset the costs of your registration, but it is also a day where we can showcase our sponsors by proudly wearing team jerseys in the community.

Thursday, November 15th – Saturday, November 17th

Who participates?

All PreNovice, Novice, Tyke and Atom Teams (house league and rep). Participation by all players in these divisions is mandatory.

What is Tag Day?

Tag Day has been a DMHA fundraising tradition for over 30 years.  Not only is it an opportunity to raise money to support your minor hockey program and to offset the costs of your registration, but it is also a day where we can showcase our sponsors by proudly wearing team jerseys in the community.

After your practice or game on November 15, 16 or 17 (see schedule on reverse side for specific time and location), players will pick up their donation boxes and tags from the designated arena and proceed to their assigned location for about an hour. All players should be dressed appropriately for the weather and wear their DMHA jersey over their outer clothing.  Hats, gloves and winter boots are a good idea as it may be chilly.

At least one parent is required to accompany every 3-4 children to supervise them at all times.  If you have more than one child in DMHA, they can go out together.

Remember we are all representing the DMHA.  Our behaviour, good and bad, reflects on us all. Players are to be polite when soliciting donations from customers and thank them whether or not they choose to donate.  Players may want to say “Hello, would you like to support Dundas Minor Hockey?”  When someone makes a donation, they place the money in the donation box, the player thanks them and gives them a tag.  It’s that easy.

After about an hour, the players return to the arena to hand in their donation boxes and left over tags and to pick up their treats for participating.

Volunteers Still Needed

If you have a few hours to volunteer on Saturday, November 17th by distributing tag boxes, rolling coins collected, handing out treats, etc. please contact Charlene Touzel at ctouzel@cogeco.ca or by calling (905) 628-0995 after 6:00 p.m.
