Fee Structure for the 2008-2009 Tryouts

  • All fees are to be paid in CASH and are non-refundable.
  • All players are required to pay a 1 time $20.00 administration fee. This fee is to be paid at the time of tryout registration in advance of your 1st scheduled skate. This applies to all players, including those unable to participate as a result of a season ending injury, temporary injury or illness.
  • An additional 1 time fee of $30.00 for ice time is to be paid by all players participating in on-ice tryouts. This fee is to be paid at the time of registration in advance of your 1st scheduled tryout.
  • Players/families that do not pay all of the required fees in advance of their 1st scheduled tryout will not be allowed to participate and will not be considered.

Attendance at Tryouts

·          To provide the maximum opportunity for coaches and players during the tryout/selection process, all players wanting to be considered for a DMHA Rep Team for the 2008-2009 season, are expected to attend and participate as per the tryout schedule.

·          Tryouts run from April 19 2008 – April 30 2008. Specific dates and times for each division will be posted.

·          IMPORTANT – Players/families assume responsibility for their attendance at tryouts – NOT THE DMHA.

·          Plan ahead. Players wishing to be considered that cannot attend all of the tryouts as per the posted schedule are to notify the DMHA, and subsequently the VP of Rep and Head Coach in advance.

·          Coaches are under no obligation to accommodate or make allowances for players that do not attend tryouts for reasons other than a documented illness or injury.

·          If there are conflicts with AAA tryouts, players are required to advise the DMHA in advance.

Player Cuts at Tryouts

·          All player cuts will be done in the form of letters to be opened only after leaving the arena premises. Final cuts will be done in the form of a brief interview with the head coach and a representative from the DMHA. The 24 hour rule will be in place and enforced. Players/families are instructed to contact the VP of Rep Hockey through the DMHA office if clarification is needed.

Underage Players

  • Underage players may tryout for the 1st entry (BB) Rep team in a division above; however, they are NOT eligible to tryout or roster with an AE team in a division above. As per the Underage Policy in the DMHA Rules of Operation, players wishing to tryout in a division above, must also tryout in their PROPER AGE APPROPRIATE DIVISION. A letter of intent must be forwarded to the DMHA by April 1 2008. Fees-1 time administration fee of $20.00 AND $30.00 ICE TIME FEE FOR EACH DIVISION (total - $20.00 + $30.00 + $30.00). See DMHA Underage Policy in Rules of Operation for complete details.

Players Unable To Participate in Tryouts

A player with a season ending injury, temporary injury, or illness (unable to participate in tryouts) will still be considered for a rostered position on a DMHA Rep Team, ONLY if the following conditions are met:

·          Players unable to participate are required to advise the DMHA, and subsequently the VP of Rep and Head Coach in advance. The DMHA reserves the right (as deemed appropriate by the association), to request documentation in the form of a doctor’s note, to substantiate the nature of the injury or illness.

·           Players unable to participate are required to attend (or be represented) at tryout registration, and pay the $20.00 non-refundable administration fee in advance.

In accordance with OMHA Regulations - the following conditions apply to all DMHA players wishing to tryout in a division above their proper age group.

1. The DMHA will only consider a request for under age player movement to a division above, if a player has been deemed – by demonstrated ability at rep tryouts to possess EXCEPTIONAL TALENT. Exceptional talent being defined as: in the top 3 players (excluding goalies) on the higher age category team.

2. Under age players are eligible to tryout for the 1st entry team ONLY in all divisions. Additional set tryout fees apply. A letter of intent must be received at the DMHA P.O. Box 65526, Dundas, ON L9H 6Y6
