DMHA Checking Clinic for Tryouts

The DMHA will be hosting a checking clinic on March 29, 2010 @ Olympic Arena. The clinic is mandatory for all players (including goalies):
- who have not yet completed this clinic, and
- are trying out for a place on a competitive hockey team (Rep or Select) in the pee wee, bantam, or midget divisions.
The clinic is a 2 hour program and includes both classroom and on ice sessions.
The times of the sessions are:
Session 1 Classroom 5 - 6 On Ice 6 -7
Session 2 Classroom 6 - 7 On Ice 7 - 8
Players must wear full equipment for the on-ice portion of the clinic.
There is no cost for this clinic.

DUNDAS MINOR HOCKEY - COMPETITIVE HOCKEY TRYOUTS

Letter of Intent for Tryouts and Program Evaluation

The DMHA recognizes that player evaluations and hockey tryouts can be a real challenge and brings with it a great deal of uncertainty both on the part of the players but also on the part of the association. Given the issues that arose last season including the number of players who attended it is clear that more preplanning would be appropriate. The purpose of this letter is twofold: first to gauge the intent of the membership with respect to competitive hockey next season and secondly solicit feedback on the existing programs. Letters of Intent and Program Evaluations will enable the league and its volunteers to be better prepared and organized for next season and ensure all future decisions continue to have a positive impact. The goal is to enhance the current programs and provide a consistent approach to all travel teams operating under the DMHA umbrella.
Please find the Letter of Intent and Program Evaluation under the "Forms" Section. Please submit via the DMHA mail box by February 1, 2010. Your feedback is very important to us! Please take a few moments and send in your thoughts and ideas.

Coaching Applications 2010-2011 Competitive Hockey

The 2010-2011 Coaching Application for those interested in applying for a competitive hockey team is now available. Please note that deadline for submission is Saturday, February 8, 2010 at which time names of all candidates will be announced. Interviews are to be completed by March 6, 2010. The DMHA thanks in advance, all those who apply for their desire to be a part of the DMHA "team".

Junior House League Schedules to Season End - Now Posted!

The final schedules to the end of the season have now been posted for Novice, Atom and Peewee (see Junior House League). Please note that Round Robin Playoffs will begin the weekend of January 22-24.

Junior House League 3on3 Tournament

By popular request, we are pleased to announce that we have been able to arrange to have 3-on-3 tournaments in each Junior House League division (Novice, Atom and Pee Wee), sponsored by Scotiabank.
The dates are as follows:
Novice - Saturday, January 9th from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon at Market (replacing the games originally scheduled for that day)
Atom - Sunday, January 10th from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon at Market (replacing the practices originally scheduled for that day)
Pee Wee - Sunday, January 10th from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Olympic (replacing the practices originally scheduled for that day)
The tournament format will be sent to coaches in the coming days.

Dundas Atom and Novice House League Practice Times

Following discussions with the City of Hamilton, some practice ice times will change in the New Year. Details are as follows:
Novice - the 7:00-8:00 am and 8:00-9:00 am Novice practices at Olympic will be moved to 12:00-1:00 pm and 1:00-2:00 pm at Market (respectively).Atom - the 1:00-2:00 pm Atom practice at Olympic will be moved to 11:00-12:00 noon at Market.
** NOTE: These changes are effective this Sunday, January 3rd. ** Schedules for the remainder of the season, including the round-robin playoff schedules, will be posted to the DMHA website very soon. These schedules will incorporate the new practice times.
