Executive VP's Update for May 2012

Though
the 2011/2012 hockey season has come to an end, preparations are well underway
for next year!
Rep Try-outs for the 2012/2013
season began April 22nd and continue until May 17th. It has been fabulous to see such a great turn
out of players! Thank you to the many
volunteers who have given their time to make the try-outs run so smoothly. Please be sure to check the DMHA website for
schedule updates.

The Annual General
Meeting is your time to hear updates from this year’s executive, honour those
being awarded Lifetime Memberships and have a say in who will lead our
association next season.
This is your
association. We hope you will
attend.
Below is some
information regarding the proceedings of the meeting.

Voting
Procedures: After a review
of OMHA recommendations and the procedures of multiple other local associations
conducted by the DMHA Constitution Review Committee and the DMHA Executive, it
has been decided that at the AGM there will be: one vote per registered household. This means that for each address listed on the
2011/2012 season registrations, one vote will be allotted. There will not be additional votes per player
registered at that address, or additional votes if a player resides at multiple
addresses. It is expected that parents
and guardians will decide prior to the AGM which of them will register to
vote. One voting card will be
distributed to the first person signing in with the registered address. Should there be a dispute between
parents/guardians, they will be asked to leave the gymnasium to discuss the
matter. The DMHA Executive will not be
responsible for deciding which parent/guardian uses the voting card.

2012 Rep Hockey Tryouts - Update

The coaches for the 2012/2013 season will be announced at the end of this year’s Rep Banquet (April 15th) DMHA players are encouraged to attend our pre-try-out registration night on April 11th from 7 - 9 pm in the gym at St. Paul's United Church (corner of Cross and Park streets). Players who attend the pre-registration are able to register for try-outs, pay a reduced fee of $ 75, purchase a season pass for the JR C’s, and request passports or permission to skate forms. Players may register for try-outs by coming to the rink on the night of their age groups try-outs. The cost for players who attend during the try-out is $100. Online Registration is now OPEN!

registration for the 2012-2013 season will open April 1st and will
run until May 31st. Please use the link below to log into the
system to complete your online registration. Please be sure to answer all
the required information as this gives us your most up-to-date information and
therefore allows us to communicate more effectively with you. The online
registration will only take approx. 5-7 minutes of your time. If you have
any questions, you may contact the Dundas Minor Hockey Association at our new
email address of dmhainfo@gmail.com. This email address replaces
the old one of deedee.00@hotmail.com.
